Teens and Adults (ages 12+)
We train our students to the best of their ability. Some students come to us in shape, while others have come to us 100 pounds overweight. Most come to us with limited flexibility. Adults start at any age, we have had some adults who started as late as age 65, and have still earned their black belts. As a student, you are looked upon as an individual, never compared to anyone else. Our instructors will be there every step of the way. All that is expected of you is a willingness to try. Here are some benefits you can expect from training in Taekwondo:
Fitness
The principals of Taekwondo techniques are based on the design of your body. For power you develop the larger, powerful muscle of your torso. The speed of the techniques comes from the fast, agile muscles of the arms and legs. As you progress in Taekwondo you will learn to coordinate this speed and power, and develop a concentration to focus all of your body's strength into hard striking surfaces like the edge of the hand or the heel of the foot.
Self-Defense
When the speed and power developed through Taekwondo is used in a self-defense situation against the soft vulnerable parts of an attacker's body, the result can be incredible. Taekwondo allows a woman to emphasize many of her natural physical strengths, such as power in the legs, while learning a method of self-defense efficient against a much larger opponent. Knowing you can defend yourself, your confidence will grow. And confidence is usually enough to deter potential attackers.
Self-Confidence
This does not come naturally for many people, but self-confidence can be developed over a period of time. Through Taekwondo, as you accomplish new goals, your confidence level increases. Taekwondo instills a sense of self-confidence that can carry over to all aspects of your life.
Stress Relief
Regardless of what kind of day you are having, Taekwondo training offers you a release from the daily grind. Come in and set your goals, hit something and have fun. After a hard work out you will feel like you accomplished something and walk out relaxed and ready to tackle those everyday obstacles.

ATA MMA
Our MMA class is great for the student looking for a non-traditional mixed martial art experience. To participate in this class you must be an adult enrolled in the Leadership Program and have the proper clearance from your instructor. View more...
ATA Mixed Martial Arts incorporates advanced Cardio vascular training, Striking (full contact kick boxing), Pressure Point Control Tactics, Joint Manipulations, Submission Holds, and Ground Fighting (Jujitsu). Each class will include training in those specific areas. The purpose of the ATA MMA training is to broaden the experience of current students as well as provide an outlet for the current MMA craze. One important note is that we do not provide cage fighting specific training for those that are interested in MMA cage fighting. However, we do prepare our students to compete in the I.M.A.S. (Integrated Martial Art Systems) on the American Taekwondo Association National Tournament circuit should the student wish to fight in an MMA competition. The competitions are held 4 times a year in Las Vegas Nevada, Orlando Florida, Little Rock Arkansas, or Dallas Texas. Even though this is not a traditional martial art class we do incorporate the same Life Skill and philosophy into our MMA training that can be found in our traditional Taekwondo classes.
Adults of all shapes, sizes, and ages come to us, and those who stay will achieve their goals. Whether you're interested in fitness, self-defense, or whatever, we're here to help you!
"We train our students to the best of their ability - all that is expected of you is your willingness to try!"
